Range Servant is a Swedish maker of driving range equipment, best known for ball dispensers. Its site lists a robotic picker built by Relox Robotics. Service Robot Co. is a different kind of company. We pick the right machine for your range, lease it on a 3-year lease with a $1 buyout, deploy it, train your staff and service it.

Where does it fit on your site?

Is a robot picker or a tractor picker right for your range?

Range Servant’s ball-picker page lists several pickers pulled behind a cart or vehicle, in light, heavy duty and ditch models, alongside the robotic Range Picker. Those tow-behind pickers need a driver. A robot picker does not. That is the real choice for many ranges: staff time on the outfield or a machine on a schedule. We look at your range first and say which fits. If a tow-behind picker is the better answer, we tell you. Source

What does a robot picker do on a working range?

Range Servant’s page says its Range Picker works 24/7, picks up balls, charges when needed and drops the balls in a designated place when it is full, with adjustable work hours and picking areas. Belrobotics describes the same cycle for its own picker: it returns to base, unloads into a drop pit, and the balls move on to the cleaner and dispenser. We set the hours and zones with you, so the outfield is not being picked while members are hitting. Source

What stays with you if you already use Range Servant?

Range Servant America lists driving range equipment, range accessories and course supplies. Your dispensers, washers and mats do not need to change for us to talk about the picker. Our scope is the robot on the outfield: choosing it, leasing it, setting the drop point and zones, training your staff and servicing it. We do not service dispensers or washers, and we say so up front. Source

Why talk to an integrator first?

Going direct to one maker gets you that maker’s machine. Service Robot Co. starts from your site instead. We pick the right machine for it, lease it to you, deploy it, train your team and service it. One company owns the result.

How does the lease work?

A 3-year lease with a $1 buyout at the end. You see the terms before you commit.

  1. Assess

A free site assessment of the floors, routes and hours you want to cover. We look at the layout, the people and the work.

  2. Lease

We pick the right machine for your site and quote a 3-year lease with a $1 buyout at the end.

  3. Deploy and train

We map the site, set the routes and no-go areas and train your team to run the robot day to day.

  4. Service

One number when something stops. Support, service engineers, check visits and a warranty are listed below.

What should you ask before you sign?

Ask these of Range Servant, of us, or of anyone selling you a robot.

  1. Who installs the robot picker on my range, and who sets the picking zones and the drop point?
  2. Who trains my range staff, and is that training on site?
  3. Who answers when the picker stops at 7am on a Saturday, and how fast?
  4. Who is on my range, in my state, when a repair is needed?
  5. If support is a service agreement, where is it available? Range Servant’s support page lists its agreement as Sweden and UK only.
  6. Who built the robot, and who do I call about the robot itself versus the rest of my equipment?
  7. What does the warranty cover on the robot, who is covered, and what counts as a wearing part?
  8. What happens at the end of the term: do I own the machine, and what does that cost?
  9. Would a tow-behind picker serve my range better, and will you say so if it would?

Who should go direct to Range Servant instead?

Going direct is the right call for some buyers. We would rather say so than take a lease that does not fit.

  • You already know you want the Relox picker and are happy to deal with the seller for support.
  • You mainly need dispensers, washers or ball-management equipment. We do not service those.
  • You already have a service agreement that covers your range.
  • If no robot fits your site yet, we will say so at the assessment.
