Servi is a restaurant food-running robot made by Bear Robotics of Redwood City, California. Service Robot Co. is a different kind of company. We pick the right machine for your floor, lease it on a 3-year lease with a $1 buyout, deploy it, train your crew and service it.

Who makes the Servi robot?

TechCrunch reported in January 2025 that LG Electronics took a 51 percent majority stake in Bear Robotics, which becomes an LG subsidiary. Source

What do operators and restaurant groups report?

Outside sources, quoted and linked. Check each point on your own sites.

The Tucson Citizen reported in January 2023 that a Servi at Saffron Indian Bistro had to be rebooted several times on one Tuesday. The bug was fixed remotely by the company, and the owner said he was sticking with the robot for now.

Restaurant Dive reported in August 2022 that Brinker paused a Bear Robotics test across Chili’s restaurants. CEO Kevin Hochman said Brinker would stop projects it did not have a “line of sight to a return on the business”

Where does it fit on your site?

Where does a food runner earn its place?

Restaurant Dive describes Bear Robotics’ restaurant robots as hosting, bussing and running food. Those jobs repeat all day on the same routes: kitchen to table, table to dish pit. That makes a floor with long walks and steady covers the natural fit. A small room with tight aisles gets less from any food runner. We walk your floor before choosing, and we tell you if the answer is no robot yet. Source

What does a busy shift expect from the setup?

Aisle width, chair habits and where the robot rests between runs decide whether it helps or gets in the way. The Tucson Citizen’s account of reboots on a single Tuesday shows why a restaurant needs someone to call and a fix that does not wait for a visit. We plan the stations, charging spot and restart steps with your manager before go-live. Source

What do servers keep doing?

Servers keep the guest. The robot carries the heavy trays and clears dishes; servers greet, upsell, check back and handle problems. Brinker’s own statement shows a restaurant group weighing whether a robot project returns value to the business, which is the right question for any operator. We set expectations with your crew so the robot is a tool they choose to use. Source

What does week one look like?

We walk your floor at a quiet hour and again at your busiest, mark routes and the resting spot, and agree who restarts the robot when it stops. On install day we run real orders with your team. In the first weeks we check where it stalls, adjust routes and retrain anyone who needs it. One company does the rollout and answers the phone afterwards, so a stalled robot is not a ticket with a maker.

Why talk to an integrator first?

Going direct to one maker gets you that maker’s machine. Service Robot Co. starts from your site instead. We pick the right machine for it, lease it to you, deploy it, train your team and service it. One company owns the result.

How does the lease work?

A 3-year lease with a $1 buyout at the end. You see the terms before you commit.

  1. Assess

A free site assessment of the floors, routes and hours you want to cover. We look at the layout, the people and the work.

  2. Lease

We pick the right machine for your site and quote a 3-year lease with a $1 buyout at the end.

  3. Deploy and train

We map the site, set the routes and no-go areas and train your team to run the robot day to day.

  4. Service

One number when something stops. Support, service engineers, check visits and a warranty are listed below.

What should you ask before you sign?

Ask these of Servi Robot, of us, or of anyone selling you a robot.

  1. Who services a Servi robot in my city, and what is their response time?
  2. What happens if the maker’s ownership or priorities change?
  3. Are there software or cloud fees, and what do they cover?
  4. Who owns the floor map and usage data?
  5. How is the first week handled when the robot stalls on a busy shift?
  6. Can I switch to a different machine if my layout does not suit this one?
  7. Who trains new servers and hosts when staff turn over?
  8. What do I do with the robot when the lease ends?

Who should go direct to Servi Robot instead?

Going direct is the right call for some buyers. We would rather say so than take a lease that does not fit.

  • You already know you want a Servi and only need that one maker.
  • You are happy to own install, crew training and the support relationship yourself.
  • You run one restaurant with a simple floor and a short route.
  • If no robot fits your site yet, we will say so at the assessment.
