Floor care that filled the night

Floor care in a hospital facility has to fit inside the overnight window. At this site, two floor technicians carried the nightly load across a 50,000 sq ft area.

Scrubbing and dry mopping alone took 8 hours or more each night. Counting the full floor care routine, total nightly manhours reached 16. That left the crew little slack for the other cleaning work a large building still needs.

Two autonomous scrubbers take the nightly pass

The facility put two autonomous floor scrubbers on the nightly scrubbing across the 50,000 sq ft area. The scrubbers took over the repetitive passes that had made up a large share of the technicians' time.

With the scrubbing automated, the technicians were free for other tasks. The freed time went to restroom cleaning and carpet shampooing.

Hours returned, reported by the vendor

Scrubbing hours fell by 50 percent after deployment. Total nightly manhours for floor care dropped from 16 to 5. Both figures are vendor reported and should be read as the supplier's account of this deployment.

The hours did not vanish. They moved into restroom cleaning and carpet shampooing, two tasks that a floor routine can easily crowd out.

Service Robot Co. is a vendor neutral integrator for US businesses. We select robots across manufacturers, then lease, deploy, connect, train, and service every unit through a nationwide US engineer network, so one partner handles the whole lifecycle.

The lease is the only way a customer gets one of our robots. We offer lease financing on a three year lease term, with one fixed quote after a site assessment. Floor layout, shift hours, and the tasks staff would move to are what that assessment measures, which is why an autonomous floor scrubber lease quote follows it.

This is a documented deployment we analyze, not a project we ran. It shows the kind of night floor care that a commercial cleaning robot leasing conversation usually starts with: the hours on the clock now, and the hours a site could reclaim.

Frequently asked questions

This study used two scrubbers across a 50,000 sq ft area, with the work finishing in the overnight window. Coverage depends on the floor plan, obstacles, and how much scrubbing a night requires, so the first step is a site assessment. Large facility coverage is worked out on your own floors, not copied from another building.
