Service Robot Co. puts robotic ball pickers on driving ranges and runs the program. We pick the right machine for your range, lease it on a 3-year lease with a $1 buyout, deploy it, train your staff and service it. We do not make pickers. If your range is better served by a tractor picker, we say so.

What is a driving range ball picker?
It is the machine that collects range balls from the outfield so the dispenser can be refilled. Some are towed behind a cart or tractor. Some work on their own. People search it as a range ball picker, a robotic golf ball picker, a robotic range picker or an autonomous golf ball picker. The robotic ones are the same idea.
Range Servant’s ball-picker page lists light, heavy duty and ditch pickers that are adaptable to any cart or vehicle, a hand picker, and a robotic picker it describes as fully autonomous. The robotic picker on that page is built by Relox Robotics.
Which kind of picker fits which range?
| Type | Who runs it | How it works | Fits when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hand picker | One staff member on foot | Pushed or carried across the outfield by hand. | Small ranges or a few stray balls between passes. |
| Tow-behind picker | A driver on a cart or tractor | Gangs of discs behind a vehicle collect the balls, then the hopper is emptied. | Ranges with a driver to spare and a heavy daily load. |
| Robotic picker | The robot, on a schedule | Follows mapped zones, empties at a drop point and returns to charge. | Ranges that want staff off the outfield and picking on set hours. |

How does a robot ball picker work?
Range Servant’s page says its robotic picker works 24/7, picks up balls, charges when needed and drops the balls in a designated place when it is full, with adjustable work hours and picking areas.
Belrobotics describes the same cycle for its picker: it goes back to base, unloads into a recovery pit, the balls move on to the ball cleaner and distributor, and the robot returns to charge. It also says the picker can be programmed in multiple zones.
The photos on this page show autonomous mowers on a course, not pickers. We do not show a picker photo we do not hold.
Can it pick while golfers hit?
Makers say it can. Belrobotics lists continuous access to the range for golfers and four sonar sensors for safety, and says its picker body is designed to withstand ball impacts.
Your range is not every range. We set the picking hours and zones with you, so the outfield is picked when you want it picked.
What does a range need to run one?
A picker needs a drop point it can reach, a place to charge and clear boundaries. We walk the outfield with you to check the surface, the slopes, any ditches and where the balls go next.
Then we set the zones, the no-go areas and the hours. One person on your staff owns the schedule and we train them. The rest of the range stays as it is.
Who supplies and services range pickers?
The makers build the machines. Some sell through their own sales channels, and support differs by seller. Range Servant’s support page, for one, says its service agreement is available in Sweden and UK only.
Service Robot Co. is a separate company. We do not make pickers. We pick the right machine for your range, lease it, deploy it, train your staff and service it, so one company answers when it stops.
How does Service Robot Co. run it?
Pick
We walk the range with you. We look at the outfield surface, slopes, ditches, the ball drop point and your hours, then pick the machine that fits. If a tow-behind picker is the better answer, we say so.
Lease
One 3-year lease with a $1 buyout at the end. We quote it after the site visit, before you commit to anything.
Deploy
We set the picking zones, mark the no-go areas, place the charger, set the drop point and agree the working hours with you.
Train and service
We train your range staff on site. When something stops, one call reaches us, and the service claims below apply.
RoboCare™
Service nationwide.
- 24/7 support.
- 10-minute technical-specialist triage.
- Regional service engineers in every state we service.
- 3 check visits a year.
- 12-month warranty.
What should you ask any picker seller?
- Who installs the picker on my range, and who sets the zones and the drop point?
- Who trains my staff, and is the training on site?
- Who answers when it stops early on a busy morning, and how fast?
- Who is on my range, in my state, when a repair is needed?
- Where is support available? Range Servant lists its service agreement as Sweden and UK only.
- What does the warranty cover, who is covered, and which parts count as wearing parts?
- What happens at the end of the term, and what does ownership cost?
- Would a tow-behind picker serve my range better, and will you tell me if it would?
Who is this not for?
- Ranges that want to keep a driver and a tractor picker. A tow-behind picker may be the better tool, and we say so.
- Ranges that want a machine dropped at the shop with no mapping, training or service around it.
- Ranges looking for dispensers, washers or ball-management equipment. We do not supply or service those.
- Ranges with no one to own the picking hours. Someone on your staff sets the schedule with us.
- Ranges where no machine fits yet. We say so after the site visit, before you commit to anything.
